Ed Gurka began coaching at Packanack in 1977 and has now influenced several generations of Packanack Lake swimmers! The 2024 season will be Coach Ed's 48th year!

He is the William Paterson University Head Dive and Swim Coach, where he reached over 700 victories in 2016. Coach Ed coached the first sprinter in NCAA History to win the 50m, 100m, and 200m Freestyle during one National Championship Swim Meet.

I am finishing my Sophomore year of high school. For years my friends asked me to join the Packanack Pirates but I always found an excuse not to. Three years ago I said yes and joined, but I wish I had joined sooner. I'm also on the Wayne Valley Swim Team and have swam for William Paterson's Akrug Aquatic Club. This year I will be working as a lifeguard at Packanack Lake. I look forward to being an assistant coach for the Packanack Pirates and to a great season.

I am Nate Gold I am 16 years old, finishing my sophomore year of high school. Last year I was the swim team life guard. I have been on the swim team for the last 10 summers, making this my 11th year on the team.
